Within solar energy, there are some terms relating to solar panels that can be somewhat confusing. Lets clarify them.
Plate and panel are synonymous and can be applied to any solar panel, both, photovoltaic and thermal.
Collector is a term applied only to thermal plates, while module, is used only to designate photovoltaic plates.
Finally, concentrator may refer to both, thermal and solar energy. The difference between a concentrator and the others mentioned before, is that the device is not flat, but concave or parabolic.
