Solar thermal energy: engine room

Solar thermic energy doesn't cover the 100% of the demand of solar hot water during the hole year. It is necessary to have an auxiliar system, as a boiler, that elevates the temperature of water when solar energy doesn't reach that 100%.



Solar thermal energy is complex to install, if it is done with flat or vacuum collectors, and it needs an engine room where to install some of their components. In this picture we can see the image of a gas boiler, water deposit, pump group and hydraulic circuit, together with the expansion vases.



An expansion vase serves to absorb the surplus of water volumen whenn it increases due to the heat. It is so a security system of hidraulic system.



Expansion vases are the small deposits that we can see in the pict, two white and one red, corresponding different hydraulic systems.
