Incentives and subsidies
There are federal incentives and subsidies for promoting renewable energies. Many States and electric companies offer also incentives for the appliment of renewables energies.
Subsidies
Federal Programs
Corporate Tax Credit for solar, wind, geotermal, hydroelectric energy, biomass and cogeneration. 30% for solar and wind energy; 10% for geothermal.
Federal Loan Program for the same renewable
Corporate Tax Credit of 2.1¢/kWh for renewable energies during the first 10 years of operation.
Production Incentive for solar, wind, biomass, geothermal, tidal and wave energy: 2.1¢/kWh
