Solar power plant in Kansas

Solar power plant located on the roofs of industrial buildings in Kansas This is an installation of 500 SolarWorld modules of 215 W each. A SolarMax 100 C inverter has been used. The peak power is 107,500 W and the annual production of, approximately, 169,215 kWh.

This grid-connected photovoltaics was installed over a plant. This facility can supply with electricity to a family, and avoids the emission of 900 kg of CO2 per year.


Solar photovoltaic energy is only one type of renewable energy. We can also use solar thermal energy, that produces hot water and domestic heating and can be applied in domestic facilities so much as in industrial ones.


There are some explanations about the name of the panels. When we use the name modules, we are always speaking about photovolaic modules. Solar collectors are always thermal, however.
