A hot water generating solar thermal installation needs to be oversized, ie with more plates than needed in the summer because it is the only way to meet the heating demand in winter. Therefore, in spring and autumn there is a heat surplus that can be easily manipulated through the installation´s regulating system and, for instance, it can be transmitted to the outdoor pool, if any. This way, it´s possible to economically extend the pool´s bathing season and enjoy the installation in spring and fall that, otherwise, it could only be used in the summertime because of the water temperature.

We can see the installation of the engine room of this single family home, with the accumulator on the right.
