Types of solar energy: thermal or photovoltaic

There are two main types of solar energy. The most common is thermal, which generates heat and is used to provide hot water or heating. The other is photovoltaic, which generates electricity. This electricity can be sold to the electric company or for private use, when there is no access to the national grid. If there is access to the grid, we discourage its use in the home, since, the cost and comfort provided by the electric company, is superior to the exclusive use of photovoltaic electricity.
