California Solar Initiative Program

Approved by Governor Schwarzenegger, consists in the paying back of cash when you install a solar photovoltaic facility at your dwelling.

Conditions

You must be connected to one of these companies: San Diego Gas & Electric , Pacific Gas and Electric or Southern California Edison. And your roof should have no shades during the day. You have to select installers and equipment from a list. Your installer will handle the CSI application for your rebates. You will receive a confirmation letter, and be able to start the installation at that point.

Subsidies are of two different types:

a. Rebates per installation of the solar photovoltaic system, calculated depending on the expected performance of the facility.

b. A fixed price for each kWh sold; this lasts five years.
