Photovoltaic energy in Arizona
PV installation in an isolated home, lived in year-round, in Arizona
A photovoltaic system was requested for a home isolated from the grid, to feed the power consumption of the dwelling. With that in mind, 8 photovoltaic plates of 150 Wp each were installed in a field next to the house, in addition to a solar regulator, batteries and an inverter. The installed capacity is 1.2 kWp for an average consumption of 4.2 kW /day.
The invertor is responsible for transforming the direct current generated by the plates into alternating current, which is used by conventional appliances. Any photovoltaic installation that needs to accumulate electricity, must have batteries.
This time, stationary batteries were installed. They are more expensive than block-type car batteries, but, they also are more durable and effective. The generator is used to feed the batteries when there are unfavorable weather conditions.

Solar pumping
Solar pumping in Kansas Some farmers find themselves without electricity where they have their crops or their water intakes for irrigation, therefore, they need a generator to pump the water, but, there are other options.
Rural electricity supply
Solar photovoltaic installation in a home isolated from the grid in New Mexico 5 photovoltaic plates of 160 Wp each, were installed in a house without connection to the grid, to generate electricity. The installation also includes a solar regulator and stationary 24 V batteries, to accumulate the energy.
