Solar energy in Miami
Solar energy for pool heating in Miami, Florida
In this project, we need to heat a 74 m2 swimming pool. To do it, 8 polipropylene collectors will be used.
Polipropylene collectors are another option besides solar and vacuum tube panels. They are a cheaper and widely used version, utilized to heat pools.
Polipropylene collectors are made of plastic, through which, the pool water flows. Their exposure to the sun, combined with the water running through its interior, warms it up, then, it returns to the pool and heats it.
The customer needs and the surface available will dictate what type of collector should be used. Even if a collector with different features to those listed above is chosen, it will still require the optimal angle to maximize the absorption of solar energy, translating into a higher performance heating the water. To that effect, supports are put into place for the sole purpose of holding and keeping the solar collectors at their optimum inclination.
