Solar power plant

This solar power plant has solar trackers throughout the solar photovoltaic field. Using tracking pv modules optimazes the performance of the solar photovoltaic plant.

Renewable energy, especially solar PV modules, has become, in recent years, a guaranteed investment, thanks to the rebates given by the electric companies, which are backed up by the state.

In late 2006, PV power in Spain was 141 MW and by the end of 2007, this figure stood at 451 MW. A month ago, the country broke records and marked a historic date in the renewable energies history annals, overtaking omnipresent Germany, thanks to the 2661 MW of installed pv modules, in over 43,600 installations.

It is true that this amazing boom of these recent months, is due to the coming into effect of new rules, that cut the subsidies for electricity production, forcing many hesitant investors to "dive into the pool", before the new rate was approved, but, nevertherless, it´s a good indicator of Spain´s solar energy health. The new regulation is more restrictive, to prevent speculation of a few, which has casted shadows of doubt on a sector that is the future or at least, part of the future, of the new energy model that is coming now.

This PV farm has trackers throughout the solar photovoltaic array that are programmed to always move in the direction of the sun, like a sunflower, to better take complete advantage of the sun´s radiation. Soliclima also ensures that the solar trackers lay horizontally when the wind blows at a speed exceeding 36 km /hr. (10 meters / second), although laboratory tests show that they hold up, up to 50 km/hr.
