There are two main types of solar energy. Solar thermal energy produces heat which can be exploited to generate hot water or heating. It´s wider used is in households, but, it is increasingly common for companies to be interested in this type of installation, as it can be utilized, not only for showers, but, also, for industrial processes. In particular, some customers have asked us for hot water cleaning processes, for example, in the meat industry.
Then there is solar photovoltaic. Through this solar energy, we can generate electricity that can be sold either to the national grid or can be used for individual consumption, although this occurs only when the house or farm cannot be connected to the electricity grid.
There is also thermoelectric energy, although until recently, the existing plants were only experimental. There are hardly a handful of commercial plants around the world, one of them, located in Andalusia. This kind of solar energy, takes the heat from the solar radiation to heat a liquid at high temperatures which turns into steam and moves a turbine that generates electricity.
